Wabi-Sabi

“Wabi” refers to simple things, more in basic, rough, asymmetrical manner as found in nature.

“Sabi” refers to things touched by time; that show signs of decay or damage.

Beautiful imperfection.

Lucid encounter with the transient, imperfect nature of existence.

Ideal can only exist in our minds.

More perfecting leads to more rigid and fragile things.

The sharper the knife easier it is to dull.

Nature has nothing but asymmetry, decay. Everything is in motion. Nothing ever lasts. Seeing beauty in that is wabi-sabi.
